Aespiean – A very precious stone rarer than Titaranium, resembling a most beautiful jade.

Alpha Humans – Genetically altered humans commissioned by Galaxy Garrison and GOTA to the Empire Inc. Laboratories (run by the Woolfson). Five percent stronger, faster and smarter than the average. Only a few of these remain. Never released into the population, they are monitored closely, due to violent mood swings, and the increased possibility of mental disease.

AMPAU – Allied Motion Picture Association of the Universe

 

AMT – See Anti-Matter Technology

 

Anti-Matter Technology – Technology developed by the Demosians. It works in the same principal as the Anti-Matter Shield, but can also be used offensively.

 

Anti-Matter Shield – Demosian technology stolen by Skathen Hador when he launched his first attack on Demos. The shield is ‘fired’ from a turret and forms a deadly shroud over its targeted vessels. Nothing can cross this barrier except the Lions.

 

Arus – Has four continents, Marillius, Leone, Parsha and Amselle. Leone is where the Castle of Lions resides. Arus also is a temperate planet with mild winters, if at all. Now destroyed by Skathen Hador.

Arveenth Canal – The grey area that serves as a border between the Cerulean and Coral Quadrants in the Denubian Galaxy.  There are four of those ‘canals’ in the galaxy, all converging in the centre point that is the Four Corners. They are referred to as ‘canal’ by Denubian navigational charts, the others being: Heliotrope Canal, between the Crimson and Cerulean Quadrants, Zorthem, between the Azure and Coral Quadrants, and Su’unzexx, between the Crimson and Azure Quadrants. Assthemia; Assthemia Phssthia – (DE) Mistress. Mistress of Snakes (she-snakes). The latter used as a title of absolute respect to the Nagana.

Athh – (DE) Serpent

Bak: (generic Drule): slang for "business" or "knowing what's what". Refers to insider knowledge or having common sense. In a sentence: "... it's real important to get a plum ship, a good captain who knows the bak. A good ship will make you rich." (Rubin, from "Rule of Shadows: Nature of the Business")

 

Beta Humans – Same as Alpha Humans, the second generation, ten percent stronger, faster and fifteen percent smarter than the average humans. Less tendency for mental illness than their predecessors. Some released into general population. Many recruited into the GOTA. (See Guardians of the Alliance

 

Bishops – Highly skilled and trained assassins. Completely neutral in affairs, though they are known to be just about anywhere, depending where their fancy carries them. (See Monastery of Bishops)

 

Black Hand, The – Ex slaves returned from Doom and who lived on Arus. They were assassins and spies, trained on Doom for the particular purpose of being agents for Skathen Hador on Arus. They had psychobiotic implants which forces them to do exactly as Skathen wished in the pain of death. (See Psychobiotic Implants)

 

Boil, to – (DA, standard translation) In the old Galvesh regime, under Emperor Zheppo, this was a common form of torture known was ‘Hangareth’ or, roughly translated to, ‘to boil’. When prisoners were taken, they were questioned/tortured by the Galvesh Gestapo by having body parts dipped in boiling fluids; this latter could be anything ranging from water to titanium, depending on the willingness of the captive to confess … or make up stories. It did not matter, the ‘fun’ was in the torture itself. It was a most effective method of inquisition and later the officers adopted the term to jest among themselves. Eventually the saying became popular among the entire populace, including mothers threatening their children with such punishment if they did not behave. As for the colloquial axiom ‘load of boiled frogs’, it is not known why it was translated this way to standard, since, though the Galvesh were known to boil several captives at once, never did they boil frogs. It is believed something was lost in the translation.

 

Borer Fighters – an automated single pilot fighter, slightly smaller than most standard jet fighters, equipped to attach to the hull of any larger ship. It is loaded with high-explosives which are remotely detonated. They are expensive and most fleets will have around ten to twenty at their disposal

BS Delta Gateway – A Large space station where people wishing to visit BS Delta are boarded onto a special ship which takes them there without revealing the actual location of the secret GOTA base. As far as any passenger knows, the station appears to be a full day at warp speed away.

Castle Doom ("Castle Despair") – Doom seat of government, centre of the Empire. Rebuilt better than the original by Lorgan Hador when he took Doom back from the Alliance. The original was destroyed by Voltron about 200 years before. It has a dark ‘Lovecraftian’ look about it. Surrounded by swamps and pits, with ancient labyrinthine tunnels and dungeons below. It has been re-modelled again since Skathen Hador took the throne. It is still sinister and stygian, however, most rooms now possess windows instead of walls.

 

Castle Of Lions – Arus seat of government within the capitol city of Leone. It has star ship-transformation capabilities and fled Arus with as many civilians as it could carry when Commander Bren Ash'aan took over the planet. The dungeons and tunnels below it hold King Alfor's Tomb and magical secrets. Was returned to Arus when a force was assembled to counter strike the Doom attack and eventually won the war against Lorgan Hador liberating Arus. It has now been destroyed by Skathen Hador.

 

Chion(GA) One

 

Cloaked Missiles – New technology developed by Demos. The original idea had been Carpathia Bat'thory (mutinied Admiral of the Galran), which she presented to the Demosian engineers instead of Doom.

 

Coalition Syndicate – On September 1, 2714, the Luminous Dominion, the hub of the Galvesh Empire under Her Excellency Empress Gretchen Impruss, has established the Coalition Syndicate, a treaty involving all planets who were under the Galvesh flag. This accord had given all the planets annexed to the Dominion full freedom, civil rights and military enforcements on all fronts. By giving seats in the Syndicate, the rulers of each planet have taken control over their own people, and are bound by fiscal and military obligations to one another under any harsh or critical conditions, though they are, otherwise, responsible for their own prosperity. With the formation of the Syndicate, all slavery has also been abolished from Myarandel, and their penal system has also been changed, though criminals still face harsh punishment under the Galvesh Constabulary's laws.

Conclave – the political structure on Doom, headed by the emperor and with the Knight Templar, CSS, Cthur’rl and the Parliament of Rooks serving independently from each other and directly under the emperor.

Condar – A ‘game of houses’. In the Galvesh Empire, the nobles created this insipid diversion as a way to attain more reaches and move more quickly in the social stratum. Where once being born in a lowly family meant carrying such taint, with Condar in place, all the rules were changed. A Fief (or a family) can move to overtake any other of greater fortune and thus gain their title, glory and lucre. Moving backwards in this ‘game’ is considered shameful and usually the fief who has committed this will be immediately removed by the Emperor – who is in himself, the Main Fief. Rarely there is violence involved, most ‘players’ rely on intrigues to remove their target.

 

CSS – Contraband Special Services. Created in the regime of Skathen Hador, meant to serve the same duties as the Organisation, which Skathen does not fully trust, seeing it was put in place by his father.

 

Cthur’rl – (GA) Wizard 

 

Cyber Chamber – Location where the Seats (members) of the Coalition Syndicate meet. It is in the nets and extremely well protected. Access codes are encrypted and nearly impossible to be broken. They are also unique for each member.

D’enna’i Cloak – All that is known is that it is very alien, nobody knows where Lorgan acquired it. Ships have to be modified to carry it. We know that it is undetectable to known technologies, but also that it is not a perfect mesh with the ships that use it. So it would be a perfect system except that it has "glitches” sometimes.

 

Daikoru – Galran name for Planet Doom.

 

Daikorun Starfield,  Battle of – The final spaceborne battle between the Alliance and the Doom Empire,  resulting in the death of King Lotor and the fall of Doom.  Actual events during this battle are shrouded in mystery.

 

Dark Ring Alliance – Established by Emperor Skathen Hador in 2714 with Emperor Rertz of Myarandel (see Myarandel). It was a coalition that was originally founded between Lorgan Hador and Rertz, in which both races – Galran and Galvesh – would not move against one another and they would be each other’s main import/export choice of goods; namely Lazon from Doom and Khrystanium from Myarandel. (see Khrystanium). The Dark Ring now states that the two forces are welded and either can expect aid from the other regardless of political situations.

Decisive War – The final battle between Doom and Arus in which Arus was destroyed by Skathen Hador when his ship the Fir crashed against the Wrath and both plunged to the planet. Unbeknownst to all, there was a V-Bomb in the cargo hold of Fir which precipitated the destruction of the planet.

Denari – Galran controlled planet in the Outer Rim of Denubian, used as a hub for intersystem and intergalactic passenger ship travel.

 

Denubian Asteroid Belt – A field of debris, left over from planetary formation when the Denubian Galaxy first took shape. It stretches from just outside the Crimson Quadrant, through the middle of the galaxy, loops into the Coral Quadrant, then down through the Cerulean Quadrant and outside again. It is wide enough that each quadrant has a section of the belt within it. Thicker sections, sections where there is more debris in a smaller area, are named individually. The Merlandian Asteroid Group (where Myarandel is located) is one section. Four Corners (BS Delta’s location) is another. Basically, any ‘asteroid field’ is part of the Denubian Asteroid Belt.)

Denubian Galaxy Canals Heliotrope, Su’unzexx, Zorthem and Arveenth. No warping is to be conducted through these borders, given these 'canals' are political borders established by the Drule when they ruled the Denubian Galaxy unchallenged. The division occurred through the Galran and the Galvesh dividing the spoils centuries ago.

DEW Grid – Distant Early Warning Grid – a group of defensive satellites that are strategically placed around the border of the Milky Way Galaxy. Still very new, so still buggy. It is supposed to warn the GOTA of incoming offensives. It tends to scatter signals so that the incoming enemies cannot get a clear reading on how many ships are present in the areas that they intend on attacking. (See Guardians of the Alliance)

Dr’recit Qwamm (DA) Yellow Lion

Dracha (GD) a bird-like creature similar to a vulture; these are the ones commonly seen roosting on Castle Doom.

Dragon throne – It is shaped like a dragon leaping out for an attack. The claws are high, reaching to tear its target apart, the wings outstretched in a vast span, its great horns twisted about its head before beetling out from the great head. The open maw reveals teeth that are large, sharp and seems almost real. The detailing of the carving is astounding, giving the impression that the stone could indeed come to life at any moment. Even the scales feel real under the touch. There is also cobalt sixty within the dragon’s head in a radiation proof cylinder, the release switches of which are placed on both arm rests and easy to reach, as a precaution against any attack.

Doom Imperial Elite Fleets – There are four main fleets led by Admiral Carpathia Bat’thory. Each armada has a dreadnaught which names each of the flotilla: Chion One, Thion One, Khion One and Phion One.

Ee'lle – (GD) Rocky

 

Eiskammer – (GD) Created by Skathen, this ice chamber is located in one of Doom Castle's many catacombs. A victim is led within and left to freeze to death, generally after receiving traumatic wounds.

Er'sahgn (GA) A Drule food similar to an omelet

Excalibur, SS – Home of Vehicle Voltron, carrier-class ship, replaced the Explorer. She was a gift to the Alliance from the Arusians in 2673.

 

Explorer, SS – Mother ship of the Vehicle Voltron force and their home away from home.  The ship was designed for deep space exploration and was refitted at Hotaru Spacedock, Saturn orbit, Sol system, beginning 2665-2671. She was destroyed in 2673 on Arus by Bren Ash'aan after she crash-landed, having suffered sabotage from within.

Falcon Fighters – Arus and Vash had put in place an elite squadron of fighters to help defend the Alliance years before the destruction of Arus. The ships, highly manoeuvrable, heavy-class bomber jets, had been constructed with no other intention than to fight in close or tight quarters. Shaped like their name sakes, the Falcon Fighters were sleek, agile and fast, with an improved reaction time and flying only in real time; they could not be programmed. Their pilots, several people from the Alliance planets, had been highly trained and psychologically tested to endure tremendous hardship and practically give up their personal lives. During the Decisive War, the FF had been deployed by Vash, but not arrived on Arus in time to help against the attack from Doom; the Falcons had turned around immediately after Arus’ destruction and roosted themselves in their secret headquarters. Dedicated searching will reveal the Falcons to be located in the Diadem Star System, hidden away from direct radar and sonar search due to the magnetic interference of the stars. But codes, if one knows where to look, can be found. Those dossiers are currently in the possession of Loc Draknor.

Fefth – (DE) Modern Demosian for 'snake'

 

Felsenium – (GA) A metal as rare as Titaranium. Doom is also the only planet that can produce Felsenium since it has the Shield, which traps all meteors and keep them from reaching the planet; though after a while even the Shield is overwhelmed by the amount of mundane impurities. Because of this, however, no other planet can force rocks to reach the ideal speed, face the exact amount of friction and hurl them at the necessary speed to achieve Felsenium. It must be handled immediately before it cools after it lands, otherwise the metal is unworkable. Nothing gives the extreme temperature of the combined energy of the Shield and the travel towards the planet.

 

Fe’thurrm’drakh – A mythological bird of the Galran, resembling the terraqueous legend of the Phoenix. The Fe’thurrm’drakh, however, switched from different elements, fire, earth, water and stone, upon each rebirth, signifying strength and unity. Castle proper: It is affluent, magnificent and a spectacle to behold. Its entire interior architecture has been carefully moulded out of melted precious stones and metal, to form columns, buttresses, rafters, stairs, plinths, capitals, spandrel, floor and arches. The throne room: Corinthian columns supported the ceiling elegantly and emitted an ethereal glow and washed those present in blue light, except for where the cobalt throne itself was; lurid illumination flooded this area. The mezzanine: it’s much less opulent, built out of marble and is a public area where the offices, ministries and military can be reached. It branches out to several other areas – the castle being practically a city in itself with shopping and entertainment venues and living quarters – except the Castle Proper or the higher towers and the head of the Fe’thurrm’drakh.

Galaxy Garrison – Military wing of the Alliance, headquartered in Cincinnati, Earth. It self-destructed between opposing factions during the Alliance civil war and was reorganised by Camill Arquette.

 

Gallyrrs – Galran currency. Strongest in the galaxy, though not as valuable as the Galvesh Gaullods, which are minted out of pure platinum.

Galvesh – Galvestonians also known as the Drules from Dairugger (VV)

 

Galvesh Exodus Civil Wars – Upon the departure of the last remaining Galvesh in the Milky Way, many colony leaders felt that without them, the Milky Way was open to attack from enemies. LV would be too hard pressed to reach any of them in time and VV was in serious need of a retrofit, given the age of the technology. Disputes over calling the Galvesh back or to leave them alone broke out, causing a major rift within the Milky Way Commonwealth of Planets. During the 40 years of Arusian peace, the Milky Way was thrown into a tumult of war. Galaxy Garrison, long disbanded since, was replaced by the Guardians of the Alliance. Vash pulled out of the dispute, citing that should a general attack from common enemies ensue, they would help, but would not lend their resources over this petty war.

The war ended when the GOTA promised and showed the Milky Way public that their major advancements in weaponry, etc. would keep them safe and protected should an enemy attack.  They made a contract with the people that they would step down from command as soon as there were no longer war threats. Gaullods – Galvesh currency. Possibly one of the highest valued currency, since the coins are platinum. Imprinted on both sides of the coin is the Galvesh flag – this is a solid black rectangle with forest green silhouette of Imperial Dreadnaught belonging to Emperor Zheppo (now destroyed).

Grah’tha’rum (GA) – One of the eldest game in Galran history. It is complicated, messy and loud. The pieces are placed on the corresponding coloured trapezoid at opposite bases of the octagon. Aside from these two solid territories, the rest of the board is criss-crossed by lines which in turn has black circles at every intersection. Within each shaded space there are lines denominating ‘chambers’, or where a player can neatly store his pieces for the most effective game play. The ultimate goal of the game was to annihilate the opponent. The loser would have no pieces left … literally. Several six-sided dice are used to play.

Guardians of the Alliance (GOTA) – Since Galaxy Garrison’s disbandment and VV’s placement in the museum, a new military force formed in the Milky Way to offset the Galvesh Exodus Civil Wars.

Harth’thaym – Home of the Ananta Vasudeva, Temple of the Naga. The tallest mountain on Demos, with a strong magnetic field which impairs anything mechanical. The air around the mountain is very cold, though the ground is warm. A strange form of forest grows on it, though transplantation of the flora is impossible.

HERB – Hovering External Repair Bots. A self-powered, hovering robot, programmed to scour the exterior of a ship, identify problem areas and initiate repairs. Equipped with tools and loaded with supplies as needed. They can be deployed in any situation, including high speed warp. They are not deployed during battle, because they are capable of disarming weapon systems while repairing them. HERBs can be modified to do other menial tasks, e.g. debris collection.

Ip'trod – (GD) Roughly translated, it is a type of Drule football. It is a very violent sport, and goals have been witnessed performed by a player kicking the head of his opponent through the 'gate' (the net or goal posts).

JACL:  The “Jurisdictional Asset Control Liaison”.  A small division of the Drule military dispatched mainly to urban planets that have known organized crime-syndicates/mafia ties/etc with the purpose of keeping a crime-cantered economy running smoothly and profitable to the empire.  Not police, they don’t involve themselves in everyday crimes. But when mob business spills out into the streets or becomes otherwise public, they step in to keep things in order.  Called ‘Jacks’ by common folk and ‘Jackals’ by their enemies.

Khion – (GA) Four

 

Khrystanium – An indigenous metal to Myarandel (see Myarandel). It is quite strong and durable, having the properties of titanium, but still malleable despite being a heavy metal.

 

Knight Templar – The title Knight Templar was brought to Doom, surprisingly, by a slave. During the reign of King Meorex (circa 2297), the monarch chose to inspect a shipment of human slaves sent him from one of the fronts. During this tour, the King was confronted by a human, ranting about being a Knight Templar. Meorex, not exactly the best example of a sane individual, ordered the man brought into the Castle of Doom and made the man explain what he meant by such proclamation. After extracting all the information he needed, the King ordered him drawn and quartered, and shortly after established his own version of the terraqueous Knight Templar. This was later, painfully, abolished by his son when he finally came to rule Doom upon Meorex’s death. The title has been recently resurrected by Skathen Hador, with the difference that he has only one Knight Templar in his ranks, Rubin To'alyr.
            Knight Templar are known for being ferocious in battle, merciless and notoriously efficient. They fight with the belief that the Emperor is the most precious element in the Temple, or Doom. Once, when there were more to their ranks, their leader was known as the Grand Master, but currently, there is only one Knight Templar and that is his sole title. Aside from his battle prowess, he is also a master torturer, an assassin, and holds enough political influence and power to oversee the planet in the event of the Emperor’s sudden disappearance due to any cause. He can only be Crowned if there is no heir. He is faithful and loyal to the Emperor. He is the Advisor, the Elite Guard and the Trusted. He is obeyed as if he were the Emperor and often acts as his speaker if the Emperor is not available. His choices and decisions are questioned by none.

La'arien – (DA) The chest symbol worn by Galvesh officers.

 

Lanthiel, Halls of  – (DA) A mythological heavenly realm of heroes and those who have found ‘salvation’. Lanthiel is the prime demi-god under Trass’Meer representing goodness and light. (See Trass'Meer)

 

LaserChem – A gunnery charge that uses an intense magnetic field to focus a small nuclear explosion into a cohesive beam of energy. Fired by the turret guns of Galvesh ships.

 

LDS – (DA) Acronym meaning: Luminous Dominion Ship. Also used to name ships. Exempli gratia: LDS Satyr.

Lucifer – The Strongest Galvesh Nephillim.

 

Luf'cha – Affectionate term for 'dear', one a  mother would use to her child, but also used between close friends when one is referring to the other in a childish sense.

Malaki – Doom warship, flagship of Bren Torrin Ash'aan and the ship which destroyed the Explorer.

Malica – Denubian planet in the Crimson Quadrant, has a history of going back and forth between Doom and Alliance control. Once home to Stryde, the Tiger Fighter. It is currently part of the Doom Empire but has a very wilful and independent populace.

Manasa – The ‘Admiral’ of the Naga; the next title under ‘Sesha’. (See Sesha and Naga)

 

Mardreal – Beings composed of more than one entity. These persons will show clearly two (or more) personalities. This condition can be generally seen as a result from stress or lack of control over the psyche. The Mischur were notorious for using this on immigrants to force them to war for them.

 

Meintralauf  – (DA) Galvesh name for Myarandel.  Also translating into "My Beloved Mother Land"

 

Mensla – Mobile planet in the Outer Rim. It was once a planet that was destroyed. Of its race only Abbot Bÿsmann and his son Mårbåne still live. Much is not known about this particular race only that they have a very long life expectancy and possesses no power. Due to their age, they tend to gather much information and become sages. Mensla is named after Bÿsmann’s lost wife.

Min'cha'saa(GA): little demon 

Mischur – Home planet of Mauld Impruss. Destroyed by King Zarkon since the Emperor believed that the Psions could prove a great threat, particularly considering that they were part of the Galaxy Alliance. The Mischur, however, did not believe in wars, even to defend themselves; some attest this was due to their utter lack of fear. The only thing they did possess was the Mardreal. (See Mardreal).

 

 Monastery of Bishops – Central base of operations for the Bishops. Located on Mobile Planet Mensla; usually orbiting somewhere in the Outer Rim. (More)

 

Myarandel – Located in the Merlandian Asteroid Group in the Cerulean Quadrant of the Denubian Galaxy. The planet has two suns and five moons (these being Myarandel's sister planets) and was discovered quite accidentally by Hawk Fäulkhøn. It is now the home of the Galvesh, after Mauld Impruss destroyed the second home the Galvesh found after their original home planet was destroyed by natural causes.

Naga – The elite warrior caste of Demos, trained in air/ground combat and identified by the tattoo of a winged cobra on their foreheads.  During Doom’s occupation of the planet, King Tibalt sa Ssadryis disbanded and exiled them, fearing what the invading forces would do if the Naga were discovered.  His daughter, Tibalta sa Ssadyris, has ordered their return to protect Demos, now that she has taken the throne. Nagana – The Priestesses of the Naga. Also great warriors. (See Naga)

 

Naigryl – Highly evolved sentient predators, sharing some reptilian Velociraptor-like traits and some entomologic, centipede-like ones. They have a hive-oriented society and view Lorgan as their Master. In Zarkon's old Empire they were used by the Galran as soldiers, and to test robeasts in the arenas. They are not very smart but are very, very good at killing.

Nes’smon – Pirates who deploy surrounding tactics around a fleet and use a technology called the “Nemo Cloak” (See Nemo Technology). A second pattern that these pirates exhibit is the fact that they will only attack the flagship of any fleet since that is the strongest, carries the most valuables and generally is transporting someone of importance or worth. They were Originally from planet Nes’smo, which existed where the Merlandian asteroid group now is. Merlandia, the biggest planet of that area, suffered an internal combustion similar to that of Planet Drule and died in a most phenomenal explosion. However, Nes’smo and a few other planets co-existed in Merlandia’s orbit and were obliterated when she died. Many survived the explosion. Draco, Mira and Caspia took in most of the refugees. Others scattered throughout Denubia. Still there were a few who simply chose to drift. Nes’smo was always against Drule domination in Denubia and just before its destruction, a band of them from a local cabal managed to take over a Galvesh base stationed on their planet. They liberated the ships from their oppressors, boarded and escaped, leaving the rest of their countrymen to struggle for their own survival. 

Nemo Technology – Created by Nes’smon pirates. The cloak works in the principal of a blanket. Each target ship is surrounded by it and they become completely invisible to everyone and everything except for the “Nemo Radar” which can clearly see them and every ship belonging to the Nes’smons are equipped with them.

Nephillim – Modified robeasts designed by Mauld and created by Galvesh engineers.

 

Nirra Nebula – Bright nebula near the outer edge of the Crimson Quadrant, not too far from Planet Arus and near an unnamed star system with many small moons often used as hiding places for Organisation pirate ships.

 

Nirvana – Uncharted desert world, Lorgan's home base before he recaptured Planet Doom. Has a small native population and hidden Organization facilities and docking rings.

Old Ones, The – The evil gods worshipped by Haggar and others on Planet Doom. Doom's primary religion. The Hadoran rulers typically are under Their sway and at times possessed by Their assorted forms. Also known as The Dark Ones and That Which Shall Not Be Named.

 

Organization, The – Mysterious and powerful criminal organisation which backs Denubian's Outer Rim pirates and various unsavoury enterprises on a multi-galactic scale. Very few people know of the existence of the Organization, and its leadership will go to great lengths to ensure it stays that way...

Phase Engine – An experimental high energy drive that for short periods of time can shift the matter of a ship to a higher or lower energy state, in essence placing it outside the influence of normal space. Renders the ship as a "ghost" to all known forms of matter, anti-matter and energy.

Phrynthwr – (GA) A tribe of aboriginals on Doom. Named after the island (south east of the capitol) they inhabit.

Pollux – Once part of the Alliance Commonwealth of Planets, but now has separated under King N’nemheim Heßé, who has a pact with Skathen Hador.

 

Python (Vardas) – Genius weapons developer and head of the Serpents. He built the Silver Lion and accidentally created the V-bomb in the process. He developed a messiah complex and was killed by the assassin Jade when Lorgan saw that Python was about to capture the Voltron Lions.

 

Psychobiotic Implants – Microscopic implants intertwined in the brain, sending nothing more than neural messages that must be responded accordingly. Those, however, get amplified if the host does not obey orders, and the brain is forced to believe in a pain that is actually not feeling, thus causing the victim to either die in insufferable agony or go completely mad. Invented by Skathen Hador before he ‘allowed’ slaves from Arus to be rescued and returned to Arus. (See Black Hand) The implants also respond to Skathen’s moods. The chips are able to store large amounts of information and it suffers constant upgrades in the mind of the host as information is fed. In many ways, it is living, thinking, and responding to stimulus being fed it through the brain of the host.

Ress’thinthes (pl.) – (DE) roughly translates to ‘pathogenic excretion from the waste orifice of a pestiferous creature’ or something equally or more vile. It’s not a pleasant word to be used and Demosians will not utter it freely, since it does have a powerful meaning in their vocabulary.

Sariel, Realms of  – A mythological underworld realm of the dead; sometimes considered a place of evil. Sariel is the prime demi-god, under Trass’Meer of ill repute and often associated with strife and calamities. (See Trass'Meer)

Serpents – Disbanded pirate group from Denubian's Outer Rim, fell apart after their leader Python was killed. Some joined the Organization.

 

Sesha – The ‘Marshal’ of the Naga; or leader. (See Naga)

Sh'akna – (GD) Cigarettes

 

Shi'Kar – The Doom Empire's special tactical and reconnaissance teams. The Shi'Kar date back to before the split between Galran and Galvesh, left Planet Drule during the Exodus, and have been at the side of Doom's rulers ever since. They went underground after Lotor's defeat but were never destroyed.

 

Shield, Doom – It is a mystic, ebony, churning nebula with uncanny and eerie motions, much like a stormy ocean surrounding Planet Doom. Anyone who nears it can see the clouds themselves rolling and tumbling, creating vales and crest around the interior grid that seemed to be the very foundation of the Shield. Even looking at it so closely reveals nothing about the true nature of the defensive formation. Apparently, it had been mechanical at some point until it was infused with magic and thus protected from all mundane attacks. Further studies conducted by computers have revealed nothing more than a type of grid formation within the cloud itself, but it seemed impenetrable. All computers are helpless to discern a pattern to de-power it. Only high officers on Doom have the clearance codes to ‘lower’ the Shield. It is breathtakingly beautiful in its own, corrupt way. It is this very essence of chaos that keeps Doom safe and alive.

 

Shirnaa – (GA) (n) the Devil (fem. Avatar - this is the Galran primary religion, as opposed to the older one practiced on Doom.)

 

Silver Lion – Python's mecha, the equal of one of the Voltron Lions although he was never able to duplicate it. Silver Lion was endowed with a V-engine, which is a magical construct, by accident while Python was trying to recreate the Voltron Lions. It disappeared with Reece Kuron and the woman Jack during Bren Ash'aan's defeat of Arus. It joined in the last battle in which Arus was destroyed and then was later destroyed by Skathen Hador after it was captured by Khion One.

 

Sorren Kai ("Blooded Falcon") – Lorgan's pirate ship and flagship, a small but powerful battleship of the Stardart K-class. She was captured from the Alliance years and years ago during Lorgan's career as a pirate and has since been outfitted with all sorts of powerful and alien technology gathered by Lorgan during his wanderings. Unlike most Organization ships she is silver in colour.

 

Spinner, The – An Organization weapon that uses sound as an activator and awakens the primitive anger centres of the brain causing every sentient being in its area to go into an insane rage.

Sprentacus FarthraphA scholar of mathematics, science and philosophy. The greatest thinker of the Drule history. He graduated from the Drule Academy with an average of nearly one hundred and fifty grade point average, though the records show only the limiting one hundred. He revolutionised several things in the Academy itself, as well as prove several theories concerning both the ‘humanitarian’ and ‘scientific’ branches of knowledge.

Starrunners – Alliance fighter pilots that act in the capacity of peacekeepers in areas of turmoil, similar to the role of today's UN peacekeeping troops. They fly the Renegade aerospace fighter. Starrunner HQ is in Austin, Texas.

Su’unzexx Canal – The grey area that serves as a border between the Crimson and Azure Quadrants in the Denubian Galaxy.  There are four of those ‘canals’ in the galaxy, all converging in the centre point that is the Four Corners. They are referred to as ‘canal’ by Denubian navigational charts, the others being: Heliotrope Canal, between the Crimson and Cerulean Quadrants, Zorthem, between the Azure and Coral Quadrants, and Arveenth, between the Cerulean and Coral Quadrants. Ta'al – A Tyrusian falcon-like bird of prey. Vran Tolgart was known as Ta'al during his mercenary years.

Thanarasthanteras are massive birds that resembled a human peacock, only it is vicious, mean, carnivorous and quite strong. A thantera can reach anywhere from fifteen to thirty feet in height, are excellent flyers and their feathers, as well as their meat, are highly prized. Their beaks are used for the craft of ornamental weapons that fetch high amounts of money in any market. 

Thanarfen Chtnn – (GA) Castle Doom, or literally translated to “Doom Castle”.

 

Thanatos – (Archangel of Death) The name given to the boring missiles, invented by Skathen and developed aboard Krähe. Currently, this dreadnaught is the only one big enough to be able to carry and launch those bombs (fifteen at all times, though at this maximum number, the ship’s performance is severely affected. They measure approximately one kilometre in length by five hundred metres in diameter, with about half of it being a massive drill. Its purpose is to hit a target, drill into it, and wait detonation.

 

Thion(GA) Three

 

Tierfren – Mammals indigenous to Myarandel, resembling a winged-mongoose. 1’ nose to tip (tail), 7” tall (head to foot), Carnivorous (mainly) – enjoy fruits, 4 legged + wings - (one) Wing span 7”, Air time: 1 hr. (gliding in wind current) / ½ hr. (physical), Coloration: Varied shades of brown (generally in the dark spectrum), Wings: leathery, dark grey, Soft fur, about ½ to ¾ inches long, Violet eyes, Not smart but can be taught few rudimentary commands. Very resourceful in the wild (indigenous habitat), Emits a ‘hiss’ as a form of communication, Drawn to shiny things, “Family” oriented when with young but otherwise solitary, Can burrow but prefer tree-tops, Wild (not easily domesticated), Excellent swimmers, Average runners, Clumsy fliers (particularly in strong winds. Will not fly during storms.)

 

Tiger, The – One of a series of Astronight mecha designed to look like a sabre-toothed tiger. Grey in colour with white legs. In size, close to Black Lion. Formerly piloted by Stryde of Malica, then piloted by Escher Daysuun. It is the only known Astroknight fighter to have survived the ravages of time and battle except for the five Voltron Lions of Arus. Lorgan retrieved it from Malica's museum. Now it belongs to Rubin To'alyr, who has painted it black.

 

Titaranium – An extremely strong, almost indestructible, and malleable metal now extinct in the Denubian Galaxy. It was originally found in great amounts in Mischur and Bÿsmann’s home planet. Now, on Mensla – what is left of planet – few veins of the ore can be found, but it is not harvested. (Atomic weight of sixty-seven point five. Melting point, two thousand, six hundred and forty-seven degrees Kelvin. Boiling point, five thousand one hundred and seventy-eight degrees Kelvin. The metal of choice for the Bishops to craft their trade weapon. Able to be accepted by living tissue as an anatomical enhancement.)

 

Tösh ('high' Galvesh); Tøsh ('low' Galvesh) – (DA) An insult to a woman.

 

Trass’Meer – Patron God/ess of the Galvesh. The Entity is believed to be both genders in one (‘Trass’ being the male and ‘Meer’ being the female). Form of address: “Them”, “Their”. The Entity is also pictured as being very indifferent to events, leaving instead Their demi-gods to ‘take care’ of things.

 

Treckh – (GD) A form of Drule baseball; though far more violent and active than its human counterpart.

 

Treisheth – (GA) Utter and complete unity, especially with a planet. The bonding of soul, mind and body with a location.

Trey’Mond’Lar – One of the five moons over Myarandel. Property of First Fief. The name is a subtle joke on the name ‘Trey’lar’, Akhrondion’s lost name, and ‘moon’ (‘mond’ being German for moon and used here in a lazy way to signify a Galvesh word).

Tromme – (GD) The Drule version of Hockey. The only rule is to get the puck in the net. There are no penalties, and players are outfitted in armour-like equipment.

 

Trove – (GA) One of the more or less internally autonomous territorial and political units composing a federation under a sovereign government on Doom.

 

Tyrus – Galran planet in the Crimson Quadrant, close to Doom. Known for entertainment spectacles and a popular vacation spot for Drule nobility. Ancestral home of the Tolgarts, suffered under Alliance occupation but was recaptured by Lorgan.

V-engine – Part magical, part mechanical power source of the Voltron Lions. The design, used without the magical controls, becomes the V-bomb.

 

V-shield – Developed by Reece Kuron as an energy/magic based defence against the V-bomb.  Uses the shields of all five Lions combine
