Name: Skathen Hador
Nickname: Skay (though he’s likely to commit murder if anyone calls him that), Dragon (bestowed upon him by others due to his cantankerous and pugnacious nature and tattoo decorating his body).
Position/Occupation: Emperor of the Galran Empire.
Sex: Male
Age: 38
Birth date: February 16, 2678
Birthplace: Doom
Parents and family:
Mother: Aranea Tolgart
Occupation: Empress of Doom
Father: Lorgan Hador
Occupation: Emperor of Doom
Siblings: None
Physical description: Svelte, but very well-toned
Height: 6’7”
Weight: Proportional
Eye shape/colour: Yellow, feline. Typical Galran. They tend to turn silver when he is upset or if he thinks something is amiss. This mutation came around after he was accepted by the Old Ones. When this happens, his vision becomes keener and he is able to allow the Dark Gods to ‘see’ through him.
Facial features: High cheek bones, slender nose, supple lips. Quietly handsome and attractive; he is more imposing than he is beautiful. He holds a naïveté and innocence, sometimes, that makes him seem almost helpless and child-like. In battle lust, this is distorted, giving him a feral appearance which could be viewed as either very attractive or perverse. Skathen has a mutable face that is neutral and his expressions moulds other’s opinions regarding him.
Hair colour/style/texture: White and long down to his hips, never tied up. His bangs are also long, cut in a “V” from his chin to just above his right eyebrow, obscuring his left eye.
Complexion: Blue
Build: Svelte. His muscles are well toned.
Identifying marks: Full body tattoo of a dragon. His whole back is the back of the creature, with the neck biting down on his left collarbone, the wings wrapped around his ribs, the lower claws clasping his hips and the tail spiralling down his right leg. Since his visit Below, the dragon has assumed its own personality, becoming a living entity of its own. It is Skathen’s very soul. It cannot leave Doom for long periods of time, and if Skathen insists in long trips, it will leave him and return home. This generally causes Skathen to fall quite ill.
Handiness: Ambidextrous. He wields a claw-whip for mêlée combat and a harpoon as his choice of ranged weapon.
Dress: Forlorn black frock coat, buttoned to his neck that hangs down to just above his knees. He wears a white shirt under it, which only the collar and cuffs can be seen jutting from under the coat. He wears tight fitting black pants and tall, dull-black leather boots that lace up to his calves. He also wears dull-black leather gloves and in formal occasions, will wear a breast plate, intricate ailettes and a billowing cape.
Jewellery: He wears earrings on his lower lobes and the upper part of his ears (loops). His nipples are also pierced with loops as is his chest where the dragon’s nose is. The last piercing is located rather privately.
Background:
The only child of Lorgan Hador, Skathen is a clone since Lorgan is sterile. But to fix his damaged DNA, Aranea added some of hers to his so that is Skathen is really both of theirs but he should look like Dad. Aranea gave natural birth to him and he doesn't know he's a clone. Any relationship he had with father was distant as it was with his mother.
Early on in life, he discovered that he would be a lonely child unless he depended upon the company of strangers. Perhaps hereditarily, he did not like the idea of relying on anyone and became an avid student, under his father’s tutelage. All his free time was spent in libraries or laboratories studying, unless he was in the sparring arena getting acquainted with weapons.
He absorbed all that was taught him by whoever was available and was generally compliant unless it totally went against his own belief. Though always alone, Aranea was stable for him and prevented Lorgan from scarring him too much.
Skathen grew bitter and angry. He did not admire or like his father and believed that his addition to drugs was his very downfall. However, he always respected Lorgan’s military mind and often spent hours in the company of his father leeching all that he could.
One day, Skathen woke to find Lorgan gone. All he found was note with the cryptic inscriptions:
“Thrive or die.”
Being the scion of the Doom Empire, Skathen took the Crown and began his dominion over the Galran. Although not a believer of “good” or “evil”, Skathen believes in success and money. His credo became: “Violence or money can achieve anything.”
He's pretty normal if a little ruthless and will not stop to achieve what he wants.
For the next two years of his life, living on his own, Skathen managed to make a nice and neat mess out of the Empire and those directed influenced by it. His first move, inadvertently, was to secure Demos by wedding their Princess who happened to be residing in his harem after she was conquered/sold – history has yet to reveal – her to the Doom Empire. Skathen gave her command of his Elite Imperial Fleets and she re-conquered Demos in the name of the Empire. He also managed, at that time, to capture Black Lion’s pilot, Mauld Impruss, whom he took to Doom to experiment upon. The sojourn was a most interesting development, since it led to the assassination of the Arusian King by Skathen’s hand and the theft of the Galvesh Nephillim, Abaddon, from Arus, which happened to be residing on Fury’s cargo hold. Later Skathen lost Mauld due to a bet, but he never lost dominion over the Psion, having assured that one of the Dark Gods placed a mark on the mad hybrid Admiral.
It would be only a matter of weeks before Skathen would be chosen by the Old Gods residing in the bowels of Doom and his relation with Tiba would come to a catastrophic result.
Feeling unwanted and not understood by the only woman he had grown to love, he cast her out of the planet, breaking his marriage vows and giving her the title of Viceroy of Demos. His first reaction had been to murder her, but his heart would allow no such harsh motion.
After watching her leave, he felt lost and unsure, but soon – quite soon – something else called to him. A feeling that he had always harboured but never understood. He found Rubin and realised that his emotions towards the one man he had always viewed as a brother and guardian surpassed those limits and offered himself to Rubin… who gladly accepted him. Skathen knew then that though he had cared and cherished Tiba, he had never truly loved her as naturally as he did Rubin. However, he still believed that he could have grown to love her, had she been more understanding and accepting of his nature.
In the end it did not matter. His heart was filled. Rubin was Bethlehem and he would follow the guiding light forever more.
Later, he ‘dubbed’ Rubin his Knight Templar, since a vow of marriage to make Rubin Empress was quite out of the question, and handed the Crown of Doom to possibly the one person who truly understood how to run the Empire.
Pleased by the arrangement, Skathen formulated a new plot and turned his attention back to Arus.
Through manipulations and well-placed contacts, Skathen managed to acquire Valentine Holt, Yellow Lion’s pilot, and knowing that the human would not live long on Doom, Skathen chose instead to play with his new toy closer to Arus; both as a flaunt and a challenge. Via other means, he managed to acquire a second V-bomb and place that in the cargo holds of Fir. Or rather, it was placed there, though he was never informed of the fact since his contact was not able to inform him of this particular event prior to Skathen simply deciding that it was time to go and, whimsically, taking off to Arus three days before schedule.
Skathen was betrayed then by two Galvesh nobles, Duke Nay’Ven von Akhrondion and Earl Lof’faliel Bhrackmrr; the prior going as far as informing Arus about the whereabouts of Valentine Holt on Pollux. N’nemheim Heßé, King of Pollux, is also believed of treason for allowing the human to escape, but Skathen has no solid grounds on this suspicion.
Hours after Akhrondion’s betrayal, Doom and Arus engaged in war. Skathen, determined to destroy his arch-nemesis, Allyce Draknor, rammed Fir into the dreadnaught Wrath as it was about to warp.
The result was, without any doubts, a certifiable holocaust. Skathen was saved by the Dark Gods, while Fir, equipped with the V-bomb crashed and exploded upon Arus.
KAPOW.
Good-by Arus…
And so the Legacy begins.
Personality:
Skathen is quiet, believing that his actions are more efficient than words. He’s a wonderful singer and plays the cello divinely. He often composes simple ditties and entertains himself. He is not known to play for anyone, though if anyone enters his chamber while he’s playing, no one will interrupt and often enjoy the music. He also plays the flute, and is sometimes found atop the highest tower on the castle, serenading the clouds.
He is firm and prompt, intelligent and makes his decisions based on past knowledge but listens to those who remained to advise him.
He has absolutely no qualms in killing anyone, anywhere at any age and feels absolutely no remorse by the action. He never smiles or laughs, believing either action reveals too much of the soul and when his lips do curve into a subtle smirk, it’s often involved with the prospect of death, a subject that fascinates him.
Skathen is not a masochist though he can tolerate pain without making a sound. He always believed that if he cried his father would not approve so he learned to tolerate agony. Later, he decided that this would only make him stronger, especially when Lorgan inflicted corporal punishment on him. He’ll not inflict pain on others for pleasure though he’ll not hesitate to torture anyone who fails, disobeys or disputes him once he’s set on an ideal. His methods can last for weeks, sometimes months, if he doesn’t get bored. He’s developed several implements of torture.
Pets: Although not pets, the Naigryl queen grew strangely close to Skathen. Lesh became his “best friend”.
Hobbies: Music, arts, history and philosophy.
